Game Theory with Translucent Players
نویسندگان
چکیده
A traditional assumption in game theory is that players are opaque to one another—if a player changes strategies, then this change in strategies does not affect the choice of other players’ strategies. In many situations this is an unrealistic assumption. We develop a framework for reasoning about games where the players may be translucent to one another; in particular, a player may believe that if she were to change strategies, then the other player would also change strategies. Translucent players may achieve significantly more efficient outcomes than opaque ones. Our main result is a characterization of strategies consistent with appropriate analogues of common belief of rationality. Common Counterfactual Belief of Rationality (CCBR) holds if (1) everyone is rational, (2) everyone counterfactually believes that everyone else is rational (i.e., all players i believe that everyone else would still be rational even if i were to switch strategies), (3) everyone counterfactually believes that everyone else is rational, and counterfactually believes that everyone else is rational, and so on. CCBR characterizes the set of strategies surviving iterated removal of minimax dominated strategies, where a strategy σ for player i is minimax dominated by σ′ if the worst-case payoff for i using σ′ is better than the best possible payoff using σ. ∗Halpern is supported in part by NSF grants IIS-0812045, IIS-0911036, and CCF-1214844, by AFOSR grant FA9550-08-1-0266, and by ARO grant W911NF-09-1-0281. The competitive advantages analysis of pharmaceutical industry strategic behaviors by game theory
Game theory is the study of mathematical models and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers. This paper provides a flexible model to calculate pay-off matrix based on several importance factors. This model is adapted by cooperative game and developed for some competitive advantages sections in pharmaceutical industry. An optimum solution is derived by considering Nash equilibri...
متن کاملDynamic system of strategic games
Maybe an event can't be modeled completely through one game but there is more chance with several games. With emphasis on players' rationality, we present new properties of strategic games, which result in production of other games. Here, a new attitude to modeling will be presented in game theory as dynamic system of strategic games and its some applications such as analysis of the clash betwe...
متن کاملCOALITIONAL GAME WITH FUZZY PAYOFFS AND CREDIBILISTIC SHAPLEY VALUE
Coalitional game deals with situations that involve cooperations among players, and there are different solution concepts such as the core, the Shapley value and the kernel. In many situations, there is no way to predict the payoff functions except for the expert experiencesand subjective intuitions, which leads to the coalitional game with fuzzy payoffs. Within the framework of credibility theo...

In this study, considering the importance of how to exploit renewable natural resources, we analyzea shing model with nonlinear harvesting function in which the players at the equilibrium pointdo a static game with complete information that, according to the calculations, will cause a wasteof energy for both players and so the selection of cooperative strategies along with the...
متن کاملObtaining a possible allocation in the bankruptcy model using the Shapley value
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is an effective tool for supporting decision-makers to assess bankruptcy, uncertainty concepts including intervals, and game theory. The bankruptcy problem with the qualitative parameters is an economic problem under uncertainty. Accordingly, we combine the concepts of the DEA game theory and uncertain models as interval linear programming (ILP), which can be app...
